Study Guide Questions
Thursday, 2/13
Create a 6 panel brochure of the world regional models. The first panel should be a title page that also includes your name and class period. The other 5 panels should be used for the 5 regions:
-Latin American Cities (spine, mall, periferico, shantytowns, favelas/barrios, disamenity zones)
-European Cities (compare eastern and western models)
-African Cities (understand the different CBDs)
-Middle Eastern and Islamic Cities (mosque, citadel)
-Southeast Asian Cities
Each page should have the model drawn and at least 5 facts about the model that help explain what each zone is. You MUST define the vocabulary words for each panel!
This project is due next week Wednesday for 8 pts.
Use Chapter 19 AMSCO reading as a resource.
Click here for images of the models. Note there are two models for European Cities and Middle East/Islamic Cities. You should include both.

World Cities Data Sheet
Welcome back! Please use today to get a jump start on our new unit - URBAN GEOGRAPHY! Use your time in class to finish step 1 and start step 2.
Step 1: Geography Challenge
Complete these tasks with your new table partner(s). If your partner is absent do this on your own. Stay in your assigned seat. Follow these steps carefully.
Step 2: Notes on Chapter 18
Take notes on pages 301-307 & 311-312 (skip the stuff in the middle for now). Focus on key terms and concepts from the unit. These can be formatted how you like and may be written or typed.
Tips:
-Avoid copying the entire chapter.
-Do not use more than 2 pages.
-Create “white space” by skipping lines. This allows your eyes to separate information. Who wants to study an entire page of words?! Gross!
-Use pictures and symbols to create associations with terms and concepts.
This needs to be completed by Thursday. We will analyze our note-taking strategies and look for ways to improve them.
